Description:
cobra ultrastatic hollow braided cable is made of Dyneema. It has a diameter of 10 mm and a tensile strength of 9.0 t. The 12-fold braiding of one yarn allows for an unproblematic preparation of the quick splice - without any tools. According to 'ZTV Baumpflege'*, cobra ultrastatic is a multicomponent system and as such has an initial tensile strength of 7.0 t.
The cobra ultrastatic hollow braid cable has a ultimate ductile yield of only 2 % and therefore characteristics that are similar to those of a steel cable. With only 46 g per meter, however, cobra ultrastatic has an enormous weight advantage.
cobra ultrastatic was specifically developed for use as static breaking-bracing or as load/support-bracing and is also suitable as replacement for old steel-rope bracings.
According to 'ZTV Baumpflege'*, cobra ultrastatic is to be classified as a 4-t system and therefore can also be used as static breaking-bracing or as load/support-bracing for branches/stems with a diameter of up to 40 cm.
* German treecare standard
Note: We recommend to use a stainless steel thimble with rope conductor because it enlarges the deflection radius at the webbing sling. This enhances the system tensile strength to 8.0 t.
